Pre-game, short, quick hike, North Table Mountain, Golden

  • Sep 29, 2013 · 8:30 AM

Want to get out before the game on Sunday? Join me for a quick hike at North Table Mountain.

We'll meet at 8:30 and start at 8:40am.

The hike starts with a climb to the top -- 450 feet of elevation gain in 0.7 miles. At the top we'll attempt to hike the new trail, the Lichen Peak Trail to the top. We'll likely do an out and back due to flood damage at the park.

Expect a hike of 2-3 miles, due to flood closures. (See photos)

Leashed dogs with well behaved owners welcome. If you want to go off-leash, please hike with someone else. I don't want you to break the park rules and get a ticket.

Pace: Expect a moderate pace.

Directions: Google: 4758 Highway 93, Golden CO 80403 (The parking area is north of Golden on State Highway 93, just north of Pine Ridge Road. Look for the sign at the entrance that says North Table Mountain, do not go into a neighborhood.)

Hi Deb: I am thinking about going. You said expect a hike of 2-3 miles. Is that one way or total? Is 4758 Hwy 93 the address of the parking area? I'm not very familiar with directions yet?

Yes, the hike is 2-3 miles RT, but expect a moderate pace. The address is the address to google for directions.

The hike will be 2-3 miles RT, at a moderate pace. The address is very close to the parking lot, but not exact. But if you follow the directions to that address, you should see the sign for the parking lot.
