Wednesday afternoon hike - Chimney Gulch (Golden)

  • April 9, 2014 · 2:45 PM

**Impt note, the organizer is sick and will not be on the hike.

HOWEVER, I left the hike posted because I'd love for the group to still go.

The hike takes the Chimney Gulch Trail to Windy Saddle (5 miles RT, 1100 feet). While we typically hike at a moderate to fast pace, you can go at your own pace, because we'll pick you up on the way down. Read about the Chimney Gulch hike here.

Please arrive at 2:45pm and the group should start at 2:55. If you're late, park, take the path west across the field and look for the trail that goes up the gulch and catch up.

No dogs please, too many bikers.

Directions: From U.S. 6 and Colfax in Golden, take U.S. 6 west 3 miles to the parking lot on the west side of the road. It's about a half mile past 19th Street/Lookout Mountain Road. You'll know it's the right place because you'll see the windsocks used by paragliders. The parking area is a half mile east of the light for U.S. 6, Highway 93 and Highway 58. (Try this map, click on the blue dot for directions)
