Sky Pond
Have you ever climbed up a waterfall? Well, this is your chance to do it (Pictured below). This hike could be called The Water Hike because we will see more lakes (pictured is The Loch), streams, waterfalls, glaciers and snowfields than you can shake a stick at. The whole trail is breathtakingly beautiful. On the other hand, climbing down the waterfall is a little tricky, don't sign up if you are not comfortable climbing on rocks--and wet ones at that.

Carpool Location
We will meet at the park-n-ride at 88th and Sheridan at 7:15. I expect to be at the north end of the lot. Look for my red SUV. We will carpool to the free shuttle parking lot in RMNP (across from Glacier Basin) and ride the shuttle to the Glacier Gorge trailhead. Those persons up north can meet us at the shuttle lot around 8:45--just be sure to let me know if you do not intend to meet at the carpool location. The free shuttle is inside RMNP, so someone from each vehicle will need to have a park pass.
This is a participate at your own risk event.
This was an amazing hike. Clouds covered a lot of it up during the assent which actually made for a nice erie experience, and then after they lifted you also got the amazing views. Sorry for the late picture uploads.

Beautiful. I have said it over and over, ignore what the weather forecasters say, they don't have a clue what the weather is going to do.

Beautiful hike, at a nice pace, with nice people. It was nice meeting you all, and I can't wait to attend another event.

Spectacular hike, we left on time, arrived on time, and we enjoyed some of the best scenery you'll find anywhere in the world. Bill did a great job of keeping everyone together and moving at a good pace. My only other comment, and this is not a negative one just a caution, you needed to be in pretty good shape to keep up with this group. I've been on hikes where we were consistently waiting for significant periods of time for them; that would not have gone over well with this group; they kept up a brisk pace for close to 5 hours.

This was my first real hike in Colorado, and I loved it! The trail was gorgeous the whole way (despite or because of the fog). Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Bill made sure I felt safe, especially climbing up and down the waterfall.

This hike was awesome. Was a little worried about the weather forecast beforehand, but it was SO worth it!

This is an awesome hike. It was a foggy day but when you got to Sky Pond, the fog cleared and the pond and the peaks above slowly revealed themselves and it was just amazing.

I am assuming this is a no dog hike?
July 5
There is no need to attempt to arrange car pooling here, we will do that at the carpool location.
July 5
Kristy, I'll give you (and up to 3 others) a ride from the P&R. I don't have a pass though. See you Sunday!
July 5
I would like to carpool at P&R on Sunday. Will pay for pass and gas. Thanks.

I am considering having two trips to Sky Pond, one Sat July 7th and one Sun July 8th. Let me know what you think. Anyone interested in going on Sat instead of Sun in order to have a more manageable group size?
July 4
Dogs allowed?

Wish I could go. Did the hike to Sky Pond years ago. It was a very nice hike, passing by Loch Vale lake.
