Who has Monday off? Join me for a hike at North Table Mountain in Golden.
The hike starts with a steep incline of about 450 feet in 0.7 miles, but after that it's small rolling hills. We'll be climbing to the top, then doing the new Rim Rock loop. (Read more here)
Distance: The hike is 6 miles with about 900 feet of elev. gain.
Time: Meet at 2:30pm, we'll start at 2:40pm. Sunset is 5 pm, so we will finish in the twilight.
Pace: Expect a moderate to fast pace so we can finish before dark. (What does that means? If you're a moderate hiker, it will feel fast. If you're a fast hiker, it will feel moderate.)
Directions: Google: 4758 Highway 93, Golden CO 80403 (The parking area is north of Golden on State Highway 93, just north of Pine Ridge Road. Look for the sign at the entrance that says North Table Mountain, do not go into a neighborhood.)
Donation: $1, ($0 if unemployed)
Dogs: Allowed on leash
Gear: Dress in layers (it's going to be chilly, but the initial hike up the hill will help warm you up) and bring water and a snack for the trail
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND some sort of traction devices -- yak trax, microspikes, etc..
