Welcome, Active Outdoors Fans!
The Denver Trail Heads is a group for people with a wide array of interests in the outdoors. We will be hiking, snowshoeing, camping, cross country skiing, etc. Occasionally you will see a backpack or camping trip or an overnight at one of the many Forest Service cabins. We might even meet for an occasional cocktail and will have quarterly planning meetings so members can get involved in planning and leading events.
To date, we have had over 600 events. These trips were all made possible by our organizers. We work hard to organize trips and make them fun for you. The tone of an event is set by the organizer. Hiking speed, number of breaks, fitness level required, picture taking, dog friendly, etc. Sometimes it is not as much the location or type of event, but who is running it that will determine if it is the event for you.
If you have an idea for a trip or you are interested in becoming an organizer, please let me know. We are always looking for qualified organizers to help out!
Please RSVP yes only if you definitely plan to come. If you change your mind, please update your RSVP.
By joining this group you agree to the policies and terms of the group. You must acknowledge the polices and terms before you can join an event. The policies and terms can be found here.
We do not charge members a fee to join the group. We request a $2 donation per weekend event, $1 for after work events. If you sign up for an event and drop out within 24 hours or do not show up, there is a $3 fee to remain in the group. A lot of work goes into planning events. There is also a cost to maintain the group. If everyone takes on a small share, we can keep the group growing and continue to offer high quality events for you to enjoy.
The Denver Trail Heads proudly welcome Rocky Mountain Nature Association as a sponsor. Please visit their website by clicking here.

Today, through the publication and sale of educational materials, RMNA supports the research and educational programs of Rocky Mountain National Park and its public lands partners. RMNA also raises funds for trails and improvement projects within Rocky Mountain National Park.
The Rocky Mountain Nature Association offers field-based, hands-on learning experiences in Rocky Mountain National Park.
A wide range of topics are available which include wildflowers, mammals, birds, cultural history, outdoor skills, photography, painting and writing. Find out more about upcoming seminars here.
We are always looking for group sponsors. If you know of a group or organization that would like to sponsor the Denver Trail Heads, please let me know. We have several sponsorship programs that can be tailored to fit a wide variety of needs.
