Announcing a new Meetup for THE DENVER TRAIL HEADS!

Where: Heritage Square
18301 W Colfax Ave

Hello Active Snowshoers,

The front range is hurting for snow, so we will take our adventures to the continental divide.

West of Denver off I-70 at exit #218 you?ll find Herman Gulch. From the trailhead, Herman Gulch trail climbs 1,300-feet over 3.25 miles to connect with the Continental Divide Trail and Herman Lake above timberline. The trail is steep on both ends, but the middle is a beautiful hanging valley with great scenic views.

We will not stay on a packed trail. Instead, we will be creating our own trail through the snow. I need good snowshoers to rotate with me to take the lead, because snowshoeing in 2+ feet of snow is exhausting. I don't normally meaure my trips by miles covered. I measure snowshoe trip by hours. Usually my snowshoe trips last 5 hours round trip. Amount of distance covered depends on how deep the snow is.

We will be meeting at the Heritage Square parking lot at 8:30am sharp.
