Tom's and my submissions for this upcoming meetup are on the site.
We will spend:
--First half-hour (or so) for introductions
--40 minutes (or so) discussing Tom's submission. We'll first have
a roundtable, in which we can give each of our impressions of the
work to Tom. Then after the roundtable, Tom can give some his
impressions on our feedback
--40 minutes or so discussing my submission. We'll have the
roundtable, etc. Since it's my work being discussed I'll ask someone
impartial to be the moderator for this part :)
--Last couple of minutes discussing what we wish to accomplish for
the upcoming 2 weeks, who wants to submit next, etc.
Everyone attending: please print out a copy of both Tom's and my
work, write your comments, etc on it. Please give your commented
copies to us on Saturday.
Also: don't be afraid to say if parts of a work do or do not hold
up. I want to create an environment in which there is honest
criticism, but in which we're still all respectful of one another.
Even the greatest writers wrote stuff that didn't always pan out.
We're not expecting perfection here -- if we did, then why would we
bother to meet for a workshop? :) Just remember that.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Best and looking forward to seeing you all!
