There is the Russian Firebird Festival in Observatory Park on September 18. 11:30-6 The Boulder Russian Meetup Group is meeting at the entrance around noon, let's join them!

More info and a map here: http://www.rocadenver...

I think there is an admission fee so bring some cash for entrance, food, etc. There is a park nearby that we can retire to and practice talking later if we want to.

Russian Firebird Festival: A Taste of Russia

Experience Russian culture through food, music, craft show and games. Bring the whole family!
We are expanding this year and taking over the street next to the church in order to provide space for a stage and sound equipment. Performers and audiences will be delighted! Our festival menu offers Bosrshch, Shashlyk (really delicious with meticulously made Georgian sauce! ), pelmeni, golubtsy, pirozhki, blushing Russian ice cream (a home made rhubarb delicacy), kvas, samovar tea, Napoleon cake and more! Additionally, our own craft guild will introduce Russian inspired crafts for sale and take-home “do it yourself ” projects. The Russian Firebird Festival will be the ultimate celebration of joy and happiness, of Russian culture, food and crafts, of spirituality, love, and hospitality! It will be a great pleasure to have you around. Please come and enjoy! Download and print the 2010 flyer and pass it out to everyone you know!

The festival is held on the grounds of All Saints of Russia Orthodox Church (Map)

We had a lovely afternoon. Great crowd, great food, beautiful (reasonable) gifts. Also, the entertainment was excellent. I enjoyed the young pianist the most. My daughter Anya, from Yaroslavl, bought a lovely apron and a Christmas ornament.

I'm pretty sure it's just once a year. They might have something else in the spring, though. Anyone know?

Does anyone know where and when the next Russian Festival is going to be? Like is it next month? I told someone about this festival and they were interested in going to one sometime.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
