MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR OUR ANNUAL BOOK EXCHANGE AND PARTY

On FRIDAY JANUARY 17th at 7:00 p.m. we will meet at the Denver Press Club to enjoy food and drink and have a chance to talk with and get to better know other book club members.  Please bring a WRAPPED, used paperback book for our exchange.  Fiction and non-fiction books from any past or current time are welcome (no cookbooks or religious materials, please).  Please also bring an appetizer, snack or light dinner item if you wish.  We will be able to use the Press Club plates and silverware and order beverages from the cash bar. (No outside drinks are allowed.)

This is a fun event that departs from our usual book discussion, and is always a lively and fun evening with other book lovers.  We hope to see you all at this great event!

As always - great! Nice to chat with everyone about something other than a book we all read. Nothing wrong with that - that's wonderful. But nice to have a departure from that once in a while.

Rocky, do come. Just bring a dish and a wrapped book - 2nd hand is fine - just no cookbooks nor religious materials. Although, I'm not in charge, we are all welcoming.

I just joined this club, and this would be my first meeting...Is this for members that have been a part of the club for awhile? Or for any members?

I am not the person in charge; however, please come!

Just in case anyone wants a more substantial meal than what we might have at the party tonight, I called to check on the dinner and it's pasta and meatballs. Some people did choose to have their dinner last year, so I thought I'd check on it.

Just purchased The Island of Dr. Moreau at the bookstore where I used to work. There was one other copy left at $3 if anyone is interested in hiking it to Old Town Arvada to score that copy.

I'm not sure how to add +1 at this point, but will probably be bringing my husband.

I have a copy of the Alice B Toklas' cookbook if anyone wants to bring snacks inspired by our reading of her autobiography. Or we could be inspired by any of our other books this year. (Or not, in keeping with our usual attitude of tolerance and acceptance.)

January 17, 2014 is a Friday, fyi, to allow us workers an extra hour of fun.

Are you suggesting that since it will be legal in January, we should try Toklas' famous brownie recipe? ;)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
