Announcing a new Meetup for Denver Book Club!

What: DBC Holiday Party and Going Away Party for Judah

When: Saturday, December 11,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Private Home
6479 East 17th Avenue
Denver, CO 80220

You are your "significant other" are invited to join us for our annual Denver Book Club Holiday Party.

We will will gather at 6 PM in a private home at 6479 East 17th Avenue in Denver, which is on the northwest corner of 17th Avenue Parkway and Monaco Parkway (park along either 17th Ave or Monaco).

As in previous years, please bring a potluck dish to share (salad, main course, side dish, or dessert). If you drink beer or wine, please bring your own or enough to share. The Book Club will provide an alcohol-free holiday punch along with plates, cups and eating utensils.

Also, please bring a wrapped used book for our annual gift exchange. if each person brings a book (you and your partner together bring two books), nobody is left out. We'll put all the gift-wrapped books into a pile, select one book each from that pile, and tear off all the wrappings at once. Afterwards, people are free to swap their books with others as they wish.

Our 2010 holiday party also serves double-duty as the going away party for Denver Book Club founder and organizer Judah Freed, who is moving to Hawaii a week later. (No gifts please; he has enough to ship.)

The book club is being left in capable hands.

Stepping up as the new organizer is Josephine Jones, Director of Programs and Center for the Book at Colorado Humanities (National Endowment for the Humanities). She is very busy, as you may guess, so please volunteer to help Josephine and assistant organizer Francis with the many simple but vital tasks involved with running our book club, which has one of the largest membership rosters of any book club in the country.

So, see you and yours at the Denver Book Club Holiday Party!
