Enough of the Denver Book Club members have asked me about the event this Friday evening that I'm posting the following notice to our mailing list. Thanks -- Judah
Dinner at the Denver Press Club Friday, October 5, 2007
Judah Freed, organizer of the Denver Book Club Meetup Group and the author of Global Sense, is the "Celebrity Guest Chef" at the Denver Press Club for dinner on Friday, October 5. He is making Chicken Piccata from a recipe he learned in youth as a sous chef. The complete dinner will be $12. Hanging out with Denver's leading literati is free.
PLEASE RSVP TO ME PERSONALLY AT[masked] BY WEDNESDAY NIGHT, so the Press Club knows how much fresh food to buy.
All proceeds benefit the Denver Press Club.
Denver Press Club 1330 Glenarm Place Downtown Denver
The historic Denver Press Club is across the street from the Denver Athletic Club. There is limited free parking in the back and a paid parking lot to the south (do not use the monthly parking lot, however).
Meet kindred book lovers in the Denver Book Club Meetup Group. You'll read and discuss a selected book every month as we alternate between fiction and nonfiction.
For a list of the books we've read since 2007, please click here.
Books are chosen democratically by the members themselves through monthly nominations and votes. We only read books available in used bookstores and libraries. We do not allow any marketing messages at any time. Our choice to be a "commercial-free zone" helps explain why we have more than 800 members. The main reasons are great people and lively conversations at our gatherings.
We meet the third Thursday evening of every month in the historic Denver Press Club downtown. We ask $3 per person at the door, and no one is turned away. You do not need to read all or any of the selected book to attend and enjoy the conversation.
Please join us to laugh, share wisdom, gain insights, and make wonderful new friends!
