Denver Press Club Accessibility - Vote by 7/31

Since its inception in 2007, the Denver Book Club has met at the historic Denver Press Club, which offers a literary legacy, a central location, an affordable bar and buffet, plus no fees for our use. At our June meetup, a member noted the Press Club is "inaccessible" for the mobility impaired (short stairs in the entry, steep stairs to the second floor). The Press Club's historic landmark status limits what can be done to the structure, and historic buildings are not required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to become accessible (e.g., install ramps and elevators). The press club board has concluded that ADA compliance currently is beyond the club's fiscal means. The club member who raised the issue (the first to voice an accessibility concern) suggested moving to a building that's ADA compliant. For fairness, I'm asking you to vote on the matter. Before you vote, please read the discussion about our book club location on the Message Board.)
