A poor man's ORM

  • Oct 4, 2011 · 6:00 PM
  • APEX Systems Offices

    1. Script notation for components in CF 9
    2. Tags implemented as components in CF 9 (e.g.  query, storedproc)
    3. A poor man's ORM
    4. Moving objects to and from the client using jQuery and AJAX instead of <cfAjaxProxy>.

If you are tired of the laborious task of writing tag based code CF 9 has extended cfscript and it is now possible to write most of your code in script. We will explore some of the new features and discuss how to use script for queries instead of using <cfquery> .  We will also discuss a small app which allows you to easily create objects which reflect the structure of tables, views and other queries. It is much easier to move data around your application with objects than it is with queries. We will discuss an easy way to move the data to and from the client using AJAX and jQuery.

@Ben, We will see what we can do to get this recorded. The speaker will be live and not remote, so we may have a challenge doing it.

I'm really interested in this topic, but I won't be in town for this meeting. Is there any chance it will be available online?
