A Senior Information Technology (IT) Specialist/ColdFusion Developer (Research Associate II Special) position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands. This position is located at the National Park Service (NPS) in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at CSU. CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DOD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. We collaborate with our sponsors and within CSU to resolve complex environmental issues, leaving a legacy of science-based decisions that sustain our resources for future generations.

Work will be in Fort Collins, population 130,000, which has received the following awards and recognitions: Best Places to Live (Money Magazine), Best Places for Business and Career (Forbes Magazine), one of 18 Perfect Towns (Outside magazine) and 100 Affordable Communities/Best Places to Raise Your Family (Frommer’s). Assist the National Park Service in ColdFusion development to support the operation, maintenance and future planning of web applications. One of these applications is the Planning, Environment and Public Comment System (PEPC) http://parkplanning.n.... PEPC tracks park projects, including the legal compliance process outlined in the National Environmental Policy Act, public comment, analysis and response by National Parks throughout the United States. Position provides excellent opportunities for a developer to learn and master a variety of technologies. This position will work with other team members and the lead developer. Specific responsibilities may include:
• Program in ColdFusion MX.
• Develop, document, and maintain Oracle or SQL Server based web applications in support of PEPC.
• Document web application code and database development procedures.
• Develop Web Services to integrate with other NPS Servicewide systems.
• Query Oracle databases and create data objects using PL/SQL.
• Provide team support for web applications.
• Ensure that the code developed meets with established coding standards.
BS/BA in Computer Science or Information Systems or a closely related field. Three years of work-related experience or an equivalent combination of continuing education and experience. Demonstrated experience in ColdFusion programming and web application development. Demonstrated experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
The following qualifications are desirable but not required.
Experience in ColdFusion MX, C#, Ajax, and Web development tools such as Dreamweaver. Experience building Web Services in a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) environment. Experience with Model–View–Controller (MVC) frameworks. Experience administering Internet Information Services (IIS) and ColdFusionMX servers. Ability to work well in a team environment. Verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with PL/SQL and Oracle packages and procedures. Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.
