Who am I and Why Should You Care? Personal Branding & Social Media

6 pm - networking
7 pm - presentation

Note: Our venue is different because the Red Sox / Rockies game is interfering ... and our speaker is only available this particular week.

We have a special treat! Kathryn Gorges, branding and social media expert from Silicon Valley, will be giving our group a special presentation just for us! You will also be able to see her before the meetup on two of the panels at AffCon 2010.

I specifically asked Kathryn Gorges to fit us into her busy schedule. Why? Because I’ve seen poor branding as a major cause for dismal sales on countless ebusiness sites. The typical ebiz owner has little grasp of what branding really is, much less how to use it for building sales.

Just a couple hours with Kathryn will give many of us a whole new perspective along with real clarity on our priorities.

Kathryn will cover:

1. What effective branding is … and what it isn’t
2. Personal vs business branding
3. The difference between accidental branding and intentional branding
4. How accidental branding can backfire, costing you dearly
5. The 5 key components of an irresistible brand identity
6. How to leverage your brand into a social media strategy that works for your business

You will leave this meetup presentation with a new understanding of where your brand (or nonbrand for some of us) has been, where it needs to go, and the potential for opening up business opportunity with quality branding. And you’ll be prepared to create your own plan of action for taking your brand from where it is now to a powerful persona in your business – online and offline.

Kathryn works with a wide range of Silicon Valley businesses on their branding and social media campaigns. Her branding services start at $1,000, but I've asked her to work with me to help our group get effective branding started on a shoestring.

Our regular meetup will be followed on June 24 at 6:30 pm with a hands-on workshop geared to helping each attendee establish his own branding and social media networking strategy; cost will be $39 in advance, $49 at the door. See next announcement!.
