Let's go on a Boulder Canyon Hike! "Sold Out!" No more spots available!

Join us on Saturday, May 31st at 8am for a 3+ mile hike in Boulder Canyon! Space is limited and the hike is rain or shine! There is no bad weather, only bad preparation. We will hike the Canyon Loop trail to admire and learn some of the late spring wildflowers. Driving time from downtown is approximately 1 hour on an early Saturday morning. http://www.bouldercounty.org/os/parks/Pages/betassopreserve.aspx

Driving directions from Denver - US 36 into Boulder, left turn at Canyon Blvd. Follow Canyon as it becomes Highway 119 west into the Boulder Canyon. Turn right Sugarloaf and follow the signs to Betasso Preserve Boulder County Open Space Park.

All ages!

This event is free! However, we have a professional guide leading us on our hike named Tony! Please "PAY" our professional guide in either a 6 pack of beer or a bottle of wine! No kidding!!!  Bring him either beer or wine!

If you have any questions let me know! Dianna
See you there!

We are maxing out this hike to 12 people so please RSVP soon!  RSVP directly through Meetup or email me at [masked]  I will then place you on our official list and I will give the list to our guide!

Well, this attempt did not work out very well. I drove to Boulder using Google and ended up at some apartments. By the time I read directions and got onto Canyon, I drove into the foothills but, still saw nothing. I do not mind driving but, may want a navigaoor along next time. Hope everyone has a good time.

Oh no! I am sorry that the directions didnt work well for you! Maybe Google hasn't updated their park maps?!?!?

We had 20 people signed up for the hike and 9 showed up. Maybe google wasn't the best way to find the park! Goggle is usually pretty good I have found at directions...but I guess not always! Sorry you couldnt make the hike! We will have a hike once a month with Tony! I will remind everyone not to rely on google!

The professional guide recommends that hikers bring water (approximately 1 - 2 liters) a snack, hat, sunglasses, sunblock, comfortable shoes, and jeans. We may traipse off the trail to search for flowers so the jeans keep the legs protected. If the weather looks threatening, have a jacket and some kind of rain gear, - a trash bag with holes for arms and head is great!

Remember if you are already on the list to come then you can! No one else can sign up for this Saturday's hike...but don't worry...we will have more hikes this spring and summer and fall that you can sign up for! As a reminder for the people who are hiking with us this Saturday morning is that payment to our guide is wine or beer!
