"Half Day" Hike with Jim at Mt. Sanitas in Boulder!

"Half Day" Hike with Jim at Mt. Sanitas in Boulder!

Sat. August 2nd

When: Hike starts at 9:30am but we will meet as a group at 8:45am at Breadworks on N. Broadway in Boulder (about 6 blocks north of Pearl St. and in the Community Plaza Shopping Center). Cross streets are Broadway & Alpine Avenue or North St.

Where: Hike up the east route of Mt. Sanitas in Boulder and down the south route to our starting point. A little tour in Boulder leading to/from the trailheads.

Description: Moderate rating with about 1400 foot climb; some shade with pines along the route; great view east of the plains from Rabbit Mt. to the north and the Flatirons to the south. Steeper path going up (easier climbing than descending) and less steep but longer path going down; rest rooms available at meeting place and at the descent foot of the mountain. Paths all the way so no climbing required.

What to bring: a hat, water, sunglasses, sunscreen, and good hiking shoes (hiking boots preferred but running shoes OK).

Where to meet: At Breadworks on N. Broadway in Boulder (about 6 blocks north of Pearl St. and in the Community Plaza Shopping Center). We'll be there at 8:45am so you can come for a light breakfast or coffee before the hike begins. Cross streets are Broadway & Alpine Avenue or North St.

Where to park: The Community Plaza shopping center doesn't check parked cars but there are signs restricting parking-- if you want to play it safe, go east or west of Broadway and park on the street. DO NOT park in the Ideal Market shopping center to the north of Community Plaza-- 3 hour time limit and cars end up with wheel locks that cost $80 to remove.

Mt. Sanitas is dog friendly too (leashes and water needed for dogs).

Lunch afterwards: We'll get back around 12:30pm to our starting point. Lunch options: The Hungry Toad (English pub), The Breadworks, Noodles & Co., Ella's, Mo's Bagels all are in the area. Or forget lunch and opt for ice cream at Sweet Cow... malted milks are great!

This hike is a "free" hike however to "pay" our hike leader Jim for leading us on this hike we will all chip in and pay for his lunch and drinks afterwards!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
