Will be in Castle Rock area this weekend and want to carpool. [masked]

Would anyone want to carpool on Sunday?[masked]

I'd probably be willing to go down there if I have some company. I live on the Southern end of town, though (Highlands Ranch). [masked]

I plan to get there around 9:30-10am. I'll bring a rope and a couple other people.

Note: Entrance to Castlewood Canyon SP requires a Colorado State Parks' Pass or a $7 daily use pass per car. Some climbers might want to meetup and carpool from the Castle Rock area to reduce the entrance fee. Also, I was just out there a few weeks ago and unknowingly came home with 2 huge ticks. We did a lot of bushwhacking since it's a lush area at the base of many of the routes so be on the lookout.

Indeed, I kicked a tick off of my back the last time I was there.

Notes: most of the climbs on the Grocery Store wall feel sand-bagged to me, and trad protection is slightly tricky. So use caution if you set out on lead.

Top ropes are very easy to set up find a fourth class scramble to the south or an easy walk up a hundred or two hundred yards to the north. Use great caution getting to the anchors on the Banana Spire.

Parking is very limited right below the Climbers Trail, but there is a bigger lot just a bit further down the road.

Being exact change to the West entrance: it's cash in an envelope.

Looking forward to it! I'd love to learn to set up top ropes but I've got belaying down.

Just to be clear, this is at the West entrance to the park. Thanks for the map David. I've been wanting to climb here for a while so I don't want to get lost.

    Two questions:
    1. It's Mother's Day therefore, I'd like to bring my almost 12 year old
    2. Where is the grocery store wall?

    Looking forward to this!

Will top ropes be set up for beginner to intermediate climbers? I've climbed outside but always with a guide who sets everything up for me.

Wish I could Mike - heading to Bizmarck for business on Sunday... bummer! I've missed making caterpillar houses between climbs w/ Norah...
