Tell us about yourself. What got you involved in climbing? What would you like to gain from joining Denver Social Climb?

I started as a kid when I found a sport I was good at. I was no good at soccer and cricket (yes, I'm English) but was better than my friends on the school climbing trips. The mental focus climbing requires and opportunities for adventure still appeal to me. I always like to climb with safety minded people, whatever their level. I run my own small business (Colorado Photography School) and can climb most weekday mornings and usually have Sunday and Monday off too.

How long have you been climbing & what is your experience level?

I've been climbing for 20+ years, and qualified as an instructor many years ago. I've never climbed hard, and prefer long adventurous trad days out, rather than short hard routes.

Do you know how to clean sport anchors? Can you lead belay (different from top-rope)? Can you safely rappel?

Yes, yes, and yes. I'm also experienced at multi pitch trad and building natural anchors.

What gear do you have (ie; Harness, Shoes, belay device, ropes, draws, trad gear, etc...)?

All personal gear and a trad rack. I have a few spare items as loaners.

Where have you climbed and what are your favorite spots in CO?

Circumstances keep preventing me from getting to Eldo, but I've climbed pretty much every other area local to The Springs. I usually prefer granite and limestone to sandstone. I always like to head to 11 Mile in the summer, and in the winter Shelf is great.

Introduction

(719)[masked] I lead trad & sport. Moderates mostly, due to an excessive love of good food and beer.
