Physical conditioning trainer Mack Humphrey, ACE-CPT, CHC
I’m Mack Humphrey Health Coach, Founder of Game Changers Wellness, Game Changers Performance Foods, and Game Changers Boot Camp, former corporate executive and athlete.
I believe that coaching is an art; the art of facilitating the performance, learning and development of another person.
I practice a holistic approach to wellness.
Holistic is the concept that all the parts of our lives are interconnected; it means looking at one’s whole life, and not at parts of it. Wellness is the active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward achieving maximum well-being and performance; it can also be described as the constant, conscious pursuit of living life to its fullest potential. Holistic wellness is an empowering approach to life where we accept responsibility for our own level of well-being and everyday choices are used to take charge of our own physical, mental and emotional health.
I deal with the underlying causes of the issues instead of just looking at the symptoms.
To facilitate this process I seek to understand each person’s individual needs, I help my clients set both short and long term goals, set action plans, monitor progress in goal attainment, hold them accountable, and develop strategies to utilize my clients’ strengths most effectively. All of these together maximize my clients’ potential to achieve desired outcomes. I work with my clients to help them make the dietary and lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results. By following my programs’ suggestions and recommendations, my clients succeed in their quest for a healthy and joyful lifestyle.
I facilitate the process of cultivating self-awareness.
As we develop mindfulness we are able to make changes in the thoughts and interpretations we make in our mind. Changing these interpretations allows us to change our emotions. As we grow in self-awareness, we better understand why we feel what we do and why we behave as we do. That understanding then gives us the opportunity and freedom to change those things we’d like to change about ourselves and create the life we want. Self-awareness therefore is an important factor in achieving success.
I recommend a preventive approach to health using food as medicine.
Chronic diseases — such as heart disease, cancer, obesity and diabetes — are the leading causes of death (70%!) and disability in the United States. They are among the most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems in the U.S. Good nutrition can help lower the risk for many chronic diseases, including heart disease, stroke, some cancers, diabetes, obesity, and osteoporosis. In other words, we can use food as medicine.
As a student at Institute for Integrative Nutrition® I’m proficient in over 100 dietary theories, a holistic approach to nutrition, practical lifestyle management techniques, cutting-edge coaching methods, and the importance of preventive care.
I incorporate Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques in my coaching and boot camp practice so my clients can create more richly rewarding choices, faster. NLP is the art and science of personal excellence; art because each and everyone of us is unique and science because there is a method, a process and tools that allow us to identify the ways in which we have been “programmed” to think, act, and feel and learn how to free ourselves from unwanted limiting habits and beliefs.
Prior to making a successful transition from corporate executive to wellness/boot camp entrepreneur, my career spanned over a decade in product management and business development in the Mortgage Banking and Media Sales industries in the US.
As an athlete, I’ve played Football competitively and I’ve practiced a wide range of other sports and fitness activities recreationally.
