Section [2.1] of our Terms of Service states that the Meetup platform is available to anyone who is at least 18 years old.
There is no charge for drop-in at public parks as long as it is not a clinic or tournament.
We play drop-in volleyball at different parks and indoor centers around the metro area. During nicer weather we have drop-in play at many public parks in the metro area.
We have all played picnic/jungle volleyball where you just want to get the ball over the net and the only rule is that you only get three hits per side. Most of the time there are guys hanging in the net, throwing the ball, and running all over the area taking everyones' ball. But this is not the kind of volleyball that you will find at our group in most cases. We have formal rules and procedure just like if you were playing golf or basket ball. If you really only want to play 'picnic' volleyball then you are welcome to set up a meetup just for that, but please don't expect it at any of the other meetups for our group. But this is not to say that we are not here to have a good time, because fun it really what we are about. We like to be mellow enough about the rules that we don't argue about them, and keep the teams roughly even and have some good rallys rather than slaughtering the other team. We try to group the people according the skill levels as much as possible. If you have never had a class and/or clinics for volleyball, then you are classified at a beginner for this groups' purposes. You are encouraged to attend classes and/or clinics to become a intermediate level of player. But we are not here to teach you to get to that level, except if you attend some of our meetups that are clinics or classes. We do have some players that will provide 'one on one' teaching, usually with a fee. After you achieve the intermediate level, then you can learn from the more advanced players what it takes to improve to a higher level.
You can make this group anything you want it to be, as you can be host for drop-in at whatever level you like, where ever or when ever you like. Contact me for more info. You can email me by clicking on the 'email me' just below my picture on the left side of the meetup page. But be aware, that the meetup site doesn't always successfully forward messages.
Email me if you have any questions at zebrabwbwbw at yahoo.com instead if you prefer.
We are a group of volleyball players in the metro Denver area. We organize games for players on grass, sand, outdoor and indoor. It is primarily for drop-in play, but we also have tournaments and clinics. Currently we have drop-in volleyball in many areas of the metro Denver area at a variety of levels. We would like to have drop-in in all cities in the metro Denver area.

This group welcomes peoples of all political views, ethnicity, different races, physical abilities, and sexual orientations. If you are not comfortable with this, then this meetup is not a place for you.
DISCLAIMER: Activities this group are involved in can be risky. Every year people are hurt playing volleyball due to lack of stretching, uneven or slippery ground, people breaking the rules, improper or no shoes, etc. . Event organizers and leaders are regular people like you and I. We are not professional hosts, you are responsible for yourself. By signing up for an event you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your own safety and will do the necessary research to understand the conditions of the event and the gear you require. Anyone choosing to play volleyball with our group should carry personal medical insurance and consult with their doctor about the advisability of playing volleyball. There have been ankle sprains and such over the years and there will be more. But whatever injuries that take place are the responsibility's of the players and not the organizers.
Weather in Colorado is unpredictable. Although they are rare, Colorado does have tornadoes and hail storms that can be life threatening. Many times storms form without warning. Check for weather conditions before you leave for an event. If you feel uncomfortable at anytime, we understand if you don't attend or wish to leave and take cover.
Personal Items: Mark your property with your name and phone number.
I advise against bringing expensive items such as sunglasses or other high value things as they sometimes get misplaced when the sun goes down and/or are forgotten after a long day in the sun. Some people believe that it is dangerous to wear anything but sunglasses specifically designed for sports to reduce the possibility of eye injury. Keep track of your ball and/or net or other personal items. Organizers accept no responsibility for your property.
A few items such as sunglasses, volleyballs, blankets, fold-up chairs and other items have come up missing, usually when left at a volleyball meetup, and some of these items were never recovered. The organizers are under no requirement to pick up personal items that are left after a meetup.
I have had to turn off the message board due to spam. If you want something added to the message board I can do that. Send a request to me.
You and your heirs agree to the terms
http://www.meetup.com/terms/
by participating with this and all other meetup groups.
Each meetup is different so if your first meetup is not to your liking, try another. Player levels are difficult to control. If you get on a team that is not to your liking, there are others that would like to play with you.
If you have a name that people mispronounce, put your name in phonetics next to the actual spelling on your profile.
Our meetup group is the only year round volleyball group that is run by unpaid hosts in the Denver metro area. All other groups are in volleyball for a profit and charge accordingly, not that there is anything wrong with that. We do sometimes have charges for classes and tournaments that are sometimes listed as our meetups that are paid to outside sources.
Thanks for reading this. If you have any suggestions contact me.
