Hi Mike,

I only set this up for my own curiosity. It is not my intention to supplant any current groups. I didn't know about refreashdenver.org Communication on the meetup site is a bit awkward as evidenced by this mass emailing of this discussion.

My main interest in this is the opensocial api that Google is spearheading.  The ning site is more like orkut or myspace, where friends have friends and information becomes viral. With the opensocial api and social networks working together I see a fundamental shift in the way people use the web. Ning ,orkut and myspace are all partners in the opensocial api.

I think that denverwebdevelopers.ning.com is a place for our members to go to investigate. The ning service may of use to someone.

Thanks Dave. This sounds good.

I've got a question though: How do you see this differing from the refresh denver google group, the board on refreshdenver.org, or the meetup.com mailing list for the Web Developers group?

I guess I mean, what kind of stuff or types of conversation fits in which area?

Thanks,
Mike

Hello All,

Google announced a new project called open social.  I have been looking at it all weekend.  In doing so I discovered a site www.ning.com .
They let you set up your own social networking site for free. As an experiment I set up http://denverwebdevelopers.ning.com/ . Feel free to go and check it out.
