Budding artists try your hand at some fashion illustration

This looks to be a great afternoon - we shall free access to a studio at the V&A where a tutor will help us do some "Social Sketching"

The theme will be Pearls.. get inspired by the beauty of pearls and the fashion icons who wore them. A fun and interactive workshop where you will get to work from a model draped in pearls and experiment with a range of materials. Using visual examples and demonstrations the tutor will guide you through how to produce striking illustrations. You will get to direct the model in poses inspired by famous pearl wearers and you will come away having learnt new skills and with a selection of great sketches.

**NOTE** As this event is sure to be "photogenic" please note that an official V&A photographer will be at the event, for a short while only, to take pictures of the model ANDonly with permission they will include us. So if you fancy being included in any future V&A marketing such as their learning section of the website then please bear this in mind and if you would rather not then that is fine also :)

We will start at 11am and finish at 4pm. We will be based in the art studio, Sackler Centre, V&A. The closest entrance is on Exhibition Road (either tunnel from South Kensington tube or street level). You go straight ahead as you enter into the sculpture gallery and turn left in the middle of the gallery into the Buddhist gallery. Walk to the end of that gallery and turn left into the Sackler Centre where either myself or Marisa, our V&A host, will be there to greet you (please note that this entrance has stairs. If anyone needs step free access then come in via the main entrance on Cromwell Road).

There will be refreshments available in the studio throughout and we will be drawing from a model-a range of outfits linked to pearls.  Our tutor Sarah will do demonstrations and show fashion illustration techniques. There will be an M&S lunch at 13.00 t(mixture of vegetarian and meat sandwiches, fruit, cake and drinks) and we will stop for 45-60 minutes so everyone can have a break. When we finish at 16.00 you can take your work away in a provided bag.

Where is the meeting point? Is there an itinery? If I'm late where should I go? Anyone else getting nervous? I'm anxious about getting out the house.

Hi Fiona, If you make your way to the education centre, Martin and I will be in the reception area to greet everyone. No worries at all if anyone is late-the art studio we are based in is right next to the education centre reception desk so we will spot you. We will be having tea and coffee between 11.00 and 11.15 and will then move onto Scribble drawings (60 second poses) between 11.15 and 12.00. See you all later, Marisa

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
