Starting from the Visitor Centre at Staunton Harold Reservoir, this is a 5¼ mile circular walk along the side of the reservoir and then through the Melbourne Parklands of The National Forest. The route goes through Calke Park and Ticknall. Along the way, you will enjoy superb views, walk through a deer park, see historic houses and see some of the new woodlands being created in the National Forest.
Full details of the walk and the route are included on this leaflet:
Meet in the car park at 12.30pm (this is a pay and display car park)
Sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing for the weather is advisable.
After the walk, we'll go on for some well earned refreshments - possibly at Melbourne Hall Tea Rooms or somewhere similar.
