Monks and Moorings Walk
By following this 6.5 mile walk, you will encounter the past and future of Burton and the surrounding area. You can see how the Trent and Mersey Canal played a part in the town's industrial history and how old gravel workings have been transformed into a nature reserve.
You will pass historic Sinai House, enjoy wonderful views from the Needwood scarp, pass through Ancient Woodlands and complete the links with the future by visiting new woodlands planted as part of the developing National Forest.

Meet in the car park at Branston Water Park at Midday (Free car park!)
Branston Water Park is reached by car off the A38 northbound. Follow the brown tourism signs.
Sturdy footwear, appropriate clothing for the weather and something to drink (non alcoholic!) are advisable.
Bring a pack up and we'll stop somewhere along the route, for a break and something to eat :-)
