Karen's Keilidh - Scottish Ceilidh. Can't Dance? Two left feet catered for!

Karen Dale is celebrating a big birthday (admittedly 2 years late!) with a Keilidh.  That is Scottish Ceilidh dancing wearing any fancy dress providing it starts with the letter K. Kings get out your crowns, kilts etc. but be warned any kleptomaniacs will be searched on the way out!!!  Prize for the best outfit.  Fancy dress not compulsory. This should be a great fun evening suitable for wide age range!

Sorry no bar, bring your own refreshments and glass.  Eau de Seven Trent available free.

Karen's Keilidh is raising funds for Jamie Lishman’s forthcoming trip to Romania for the project “Care for Carand”.  Carand is a small village in the region of Arad in the Transylvanian mountains of Romania.  They are desperate for help as the poverty in the area is beyond belief.  This will be Jamie’s second trip assisting with building projects.

Ticket payment in advance please £5 (all ticket sales for the fund) Prefer not to sell tickets on the door to ensure venue not too crowded to dance, capacity limited to 80. BACS payment details will be forwarded when you RSVP positive.

Ceilidhs (pronounced "Kay-lay"), are enjoyed by all ages – from youngsters’ first Scottish dancing experience to old-timers out enjoying a burl.  It’s like a barn dance but to Scottish reels.  You don’t need a partner.

You don’t need to know what to do.  Our Caller, Shuggie, is excellent and explains what you need to do as you go along.  There are lots of friendly folk to give you a hand.  People come dressed in jeans, full highland dress – and everything in between.  However, to help Karen celebrate her "big birthday" please wear fancy dress, any outfit starting with the letter K that is comfortable to dance in.

This event is in Loughborough and is also listed on The Loughborough Social Club Meetup site and will be appearing on one of the Nottingham Social group sites.

Thanks Shuggie for last night. But you miscounted. There were 43 who attended + yourself according to the doorman's figures along with the money taken at the door. There were a further 16 who paid but didn't arrive plus there were donations as well. I bought the enough bottles of Cava for the toast after all!

Hi Chetna, the event is running anyway. I am not near the maximum ticket number sold yet so you still have time to think. Shuggie's ceilidhs are great fun and it would be great to meet you. No problem about bringing some pals, suitable for anyone from about age 12 upwards, Karen

It's only 3 weeks to Karen's Keilidh and no one from the Meetup groups has paid for the tickets yet. Please could you use the bank details I sent to order the tickets. I'm 4 weeks away from moving house, downsizing! I have lots to do with my new property to fit a quart into a pint pot! And nearer the time I might be losing my internet connection and landline.
Fancy dress isn't compulsory, thought it might be fun though
