Derby Feste

Derby Feste runs all this weekend and the Friday evening shows are all FREE!  So let's go along and see what's happening and if the weather's horrible or we get fed up we can find a pub to while away the rest of the evening in..  Friday's shows are:

Southpaw Dance Co - Faust

Time: 8pm - 8:45pm

Southpaw Dance Co combine world-class Breaking skills with physical theatre and create spectacular performances that “take British urban dance to new heights”.

Told through the intense physical and narrative dance style that Southpaw Dance Co have become renowned for, ‘Speakeasy’ features a unique fusion of world-class breaking combined with Lindy Hop, Charleston, and swinging big band music of the roaring 20′s that taps into the spirit of gangsters, bootleggers, gamblers, flappers, and hepcats of the time.

Building on the success of the 2011 outdoor commission “Tribal Assembly”, flaming cocktails, burning boxing rings, and a literally explosive set combine with world class dance skills and authentic 20s styling to provide an experience not to be missed.

Worldbeaters Music - Spark!

Time: 8:45pm - 9:45pm

Location: Parade through Derby's Cathedral Quarter

Spark!  will parade through the city centre with their high-impact drumming, dynamic choreography and beautiful lighting. The show gradually builds in intensity culminating in a huge climax of light, sound, smoke and movement.

Da Sunlounge - Deep House DJ Set
Time: 9:45pm - 11:15pm

Location: Market Place, Cathedral Quarter, Derby

From DJing at the top of Sugarloaf Mountain in Brazil and party boat sailing around Sydney Opera House to playing sets within castle grounds in Bratislava and playing huge beach parties to 1000s in
Eastern Europe.

As one of the original, longer standing, deep house producers & DJs, Da Sunlounge continues to go from strength to strength arriving at Derby Festé for one night only.
