What do you hope to gain from Design Thinking?

I hope to meet with people who have a lot more experience and knowledge in design and design theories than I yet have myself. I am looking for inspiring conversation and idea sharing. I have no doubt that I'll gain lots of reading material and intellectual stimulation. Also I'm looking forward to finding out about cool projects to participate in.

What skills, talents, or experiences would you like to contribute?

As a somewhat recent graduate my background is in philosophy. Post graduation I worked at a local gardening store for a year and then spent a month working on a farm in Nicaragua. I can't say that I have much background in design, but I'll certainly contribute my open ears and open mind.

We do 4-Hour design, volunteer projects. What non-profits, organizations, or small businesses would you like to help?

The first thing that comes to mind is rather selfish since it's the park about 4 blocks from house: Brooks Park. It has been developed greatly since I was a kid, but as with most things it could always use some more work. If you've never been and like visiting parks in the city, this one has a great view.

Introduction

Hi there! I recently stumbled upon user-centered design and my interest has continued to grow the more I read about it and related topics. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
