Blog Curation with Ellie Snow (Designer, Business Owner & Blog Curator)

Hello everyone! This month we have an awesome guest presenter Ellie Snow. She will be covering her experience as a blog curator for her very popular Mint Design Blog (mintdesignblog.com). She also runs her own stationary design studio, and we absolutely love her work! It will be an awesome treat to hear about her ideas on the topic of "Blog Curation" from a designers perspective.

So if you want to learn more about running a successful blog, or contributing content as a designer to other blogs, this will be a great Meetup for you.

Presentation Topic: Blog Curation with Ellie Snow

• Why blog: why you should, how it can help you get your foot in the door
• Starting a Blog: when to post, what to post, etc.
• Promoting your blog

Learn how blogging can help achieve your goals, whether you've got a business, want to start one, or want to get into a niche industry. You'll have the basics on how to get started and then promote your work. And if the whole idea of blogging overwhelms you, you'll have an outline (via a handout) of how to use the blogosphere to your business' or personal advantage.

Hand-out 1: Submitting your work to bloggers
Hand-out 2: Blogger Etiquette

Tips & Technology: None

For this Meetup we will not be doing a T&T. However we may open the floor for anyone who wants to share their blog(s) or design work.

As always we will be providing quality craft beer, drinks and pizza!

Very inspiring. Like Nancy, I, too, was part of the 95%. This comes at the perfect moment for me as I'm working on a new site. From what I learned from you, incorporating a blog looks like a wise investment of time.

I was the 95% that failed at blogging once upon a time. Really great topic, very detailed and knowledgeable, extremely helpful. Thanks Ellie for presenting — sorry didn't get a chance to say bye afterwards.

I was 30 minutes late just coming from Morrisville, a 15 minute drive took 1hr+. Thank you NBA pre-season game, thank you Miami Heat. Glad I made it though, Ellie did a great job!

I also coming from Chapel Hill, by time i reached 70 also gridlock it was 7:20, I'd never have made it in time. Hopefully next time traffic won't be so bad

Sorry I missed it: traffic coming from Chapel Hill was terrible. It took me an hour just to get past the 287 exit, so I would have been almost an hour late at the sluggish pace Wade Ave was moving… Next time!
