Introduction

I currently develop and maintain websites for small and medium size businesses throughout California. I am hoping that this group will extend my network of professionals throughout the Sacramento area.

What would you like to do and/or learn at this meetup?

My goal is to network with local designers and developers to share ideas and collaboratively explore new directions in web technology. Also am interested in developing potential business sub-contracting opportunities.

What is more important to you, creativity or profitability?

The bottom line: Put bread on the table using my creative talents.

What is the most challenging issue that faces your design practice? (you can name more than one)

Finding new design opportunities and convincing potential clients that a professional site design requires somebody other than their high school neighbor to create something suitable for the business world. Seriously....

What's your current professional status? (Student, employed, self employed, business owner, freelancer...)

Self-employed developer with about 13 years Internet experience (yes, I remember using Mosaic running on a Sun Workstation as my first web browser)

In a meetup, would you prefer learning a new Photoshop trick, or a marketing idea on how to acquire a new customer and maximize your business with him/her?

Any experience that I can gain would be beneficial.
