Best Desktop GNU/Linux Tricks & Tips

Are you currently using GNU/Linux as your desktop operating system?

Come to our next meetup and share your favorite tip or trick.  Others will be doing the same.  At our last meetup, I was surprised how this simple exercise cleared up some long time annoyances for a few users.  Everyone learned something new.

Don't have tip or trick to share?  Bring a question.  We'll try our best to answer it.

Also on the agenda:

-- Free Software Advocacy update

-- GNU/Linux Accessibility news

All levels of users are welcome, even those who are considering GNU/Linux, but not using it yet.

Join us!

Note on location: most likely we'll meet at MIT, but if the group is small enough we may meet at a restaurant, bar, or cafe instead. Feel free to email me preferences.

I was glad to talk about Secure/Restricted Boot and the challenges it poses for software freedom. :)

Group members' experience level runs from those who have used *NIX from way back, to the curious. Good reports on free (as in freedom), secure boot, and accessibility, though the accessibility report was a bit rambling; the presenter needs to tighten it up. LOL Good tips on making better use of the command line and gui.
