Let's be part of a different take of Family Day as we explore the fun and pleasures of film, movie making and video art with local filmmaker Katie Barkel. Katie is a filmmaker and educator based in Detroit, Michigan. She earned her BA with High Honors in Film & Video Studies at the University of Michigan. Her film and video works have screened at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA, NYC), Ann Arbor Film Festival, Media City Film Festival, Institüt für Alles Mögliche (Berlin), among other festivals and venues. Katie currently works as a videographer for the University of Michigan's College of Literature, Science, and the Arts and teaches video art and production at College for Creative Studies.
