This Must Be the Place @ Cass City Cinema (The Old Burton) w/ Meal Precedent

We'll start off this Saturday the 29th, early evening, by meeting at 5:30 p.m. at Honest?John's, 488 Selden St. between Second and Cass near Wayne State, and then head over to the Cass City Cinema, aka the old Burton Theater, for the early (probably a 7-ish; they haven't given the exact times yet) show to see Sean Penn, looking for all the world like a shorter Fee Waybill of The Tubes, ca. 1975, playing a glam rocker from Dublin who heads to NYC to find the man who wronged his paw in WWII. Sound ludicrous? I like ludicrous! And, well, it's only $5 for the movie, plus whatever you stuff in your piehole at H?J's; parking is pretty darn safe and secure at either location, and you need to get out of the 'burbs and downtown anyhoo, now don't you.

Wasn't that one of your resolutions?

I've seen the previews for Gangster Squad, with Penn looking great and believable as Jewish gangster Mickey Cohen. Here? Well, at least it'll provide some interesting counterpoint...

Guess what? The Burton Theater is now under new management and renamed: "Cinema Detroit" at the Burton Theater. Check out their web page & upcoming film schedule here:

Sweet! Thanks for the info, Kendra. I was looking for a fun date night outing tonight, so my sweetie and I will be getting dinner at Bucharest, then to Cinema Detroit for Girl on a Bicycle. :)

Cool! Also, there's $5 Secret Cinema tonight at the Maple Theater. Every 1st & 3rd Thursday they feature a classic film but you don't know what it is until the lights go down. Of course they do give a few hints :) Check it out sometimes, here the link... take care and have fun at the Burton! http://themapletheate...
