"No County for Old Men", since there were no true heroes or villains. "Ordinary People", since it reflected a few of the issues I was experiencing at the time I saw it. "Boy's Don't Cry", since I was mortally afraid for the central character from start to finish. Hillary Swank gave one of the most compelling performances I have ever seen.
I believe this was from "Annie Hall"Woody Allen to Diane Keaton. "Most people are like me, pathetic. Your really terminal people, the vegetables, are miserable. So I guess I'm glad to be just pathetic." I may not have this exactly right.
Hate: I really dislike tacked on action scenes. "Face-Off" was in many ways a very compelling actioner, but it had a boat chase scene tacked on to the end that completely destroyed the film. And I really hate forced happy endings. I can't say that there are any movie cliches that I like.
I would like to hang around with people who take films seriously.
Fun, very knowledgable group of people.
