September DevOps Meetup

Jason Stangroome - PowerShell v4 Desired State Configuration

Microsoft very recently announced that Windows Server 2012 R2 and PowerShell v4 will ship Desired State Configuration as mechanism to declaratively define the components to be installed + configured on a Windows system, and then automatically apply that state to a set of machines or detect variations in existing deployments.

Jason will talk about how it will work, how you will be able to use it, and what you can do today to prepare.

--

About the speaker: Jason Stangroome has years of experience bridging the gap between development and infrastructure with his feet firmly in both camps of the Microsoft ecosystem. He has a passion for Release Engineering, or more simply, delivering software to production frequently and reliably. Since its inception PowerShell has been an important tool by which he strives to achieve this lofty goal.

Some interesting topics raised in yesterday evening’s presentations, and a good first DevOps!

As per my shout out, Objective Corporation is seeking a DevOps Engineer, more information available here: https://www.recruitpack.com/jobDetails.php?cc=objective&selectJob=51&ppt=62f8c7a3

It is an exciting opportunity to work on current technologies and shape the success of the Objective Connect product.

We're going to attempt to stream tonight here: http://www.youtube.com/embed/ckNdEPbiaY4 ... A recording will also hopefully be available after the event. Apologies if the audio is not very good. The presenter's screen is unlikely to be viewable as well! Anyway: http://www.youtube.com/embed/ckNdEPbiaY4
