Senator Joe Lieberman (2000 Democratic Vice-President nominee on the ticket with Al Gore) changed parties to run as an Independent in the 2006 Senate race, because the Democratic voters in Connecticut had chosen another candidate. He won with many Republican votes and promises to support Democrats, saying he looked forward to a Democratic President in 2008. He was appointed Chair of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee because of his seniority in the Democratic Party. He has now endorsed John McCain for President.

Harry Reid MUST remove him as chair of this committee. There needs to be consequences for actions, and Lieberman clearly is not entitled to this powerful congressional position. I want to see Harry Reid show some leadership.

Staying informed has become -- for so many of us -- a moral obligation that feels like hell.
