Carol,

I’d very much appreciate if you could add the Pt. Loma Democratic Club meeting, July 22, 2012, 3:00PM, Pt. Loma Assembly Bldg., 3035 Talbot Street, San Diego (just off Rosecrans).  Our Program will feature the Veterans for Peace presented by David Gapp, Barry Ladendorf and Jack Doxey. We welcome all who missed their outstanding presentation to the DFA some months ago as well as DFA members who attended their outstanding program and would like to hear it again.

Veterans for Peace was founded in 1985 by 10 U.S. veterans in response to the global nuclear arms race and U.S. military interventions in Central America. It grew to more than 8,000 members in the buildup to the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 with veteran and associate members in every U.S. state and several countries, with more than 120 chapters across the nation. Veterans for Peace holds a permanent Non-Governmental Organization seat at the United Nations. It is also the first military veterans’ organization invited to be a member of the International Peace Bureau based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Thank you,

Vera

***SAT JULY 7  Shifts start at 1:00- 3:00PM
Your Host: WANDA BOYLE for Phone Banking in San Diego. When I tell people that I volunteer for President Obama, some ask me what there is to do now, with Election Day still four months away. It's an easy question to answer. Our opponents have already poured tens of millions of dollars into ads attacking President Obama and our allies, and we need to respond by building the largest grassroots organization we can. That means we can't wait to reach out to our neighbors, get involved with our local teams, and talk to voters. If we don't do this now, we won't be ready to win on November 6th.  On Saturday, July 7th, supporters are gathering in San Diego to call other voters across the country. You should come out and help build this organization -- both here in California and in crucial battleground states.  Say you'll be there! ***Where: TONY's Home, 4817 Del Monte Ave San Diego, CA 92107  Directions: Take the 8 Freeway west until it ends and continue on Sunset Cliffs until Del Monte. Turn Rt and the house is two door down on the left with Obame sign outside, Continue to the back for the phone bank.
