***SAT SEPT 8 at 4-10 pm *Artistic Festival ~ Festival El Alamar es de Todos.* Help us to protect Tijuana's land and water against maquiladoras' pollution * Woodpecker near Arroyo Alamar * Participate in the Citizen Petition For years, the residents of these neighborhoods together with environmental collectives have demanded a rehabilitation of the Arroyo Alamar and the preservation of her forested area. Tijuana needs lots of green zones, clean public recreational spaces for families, and natural systems that mitigate the industrial pollution. But the government of Tijuana has other plans. A highway is built. It will link a new Tijuana/San Diego international gate and new industrial parks in Tijuana. Hundreds of families have been removed and the Arroyo Alamar is been destroyed. We demand that communities are taken into consideration regarding decisions that will affect our quality of life. Yes to development, but sustainable. Should the Arroyo Alamar (Cottonwood Creek) be preserved?
