The San Diego Democracy for America Meetup Group Message Board › Future direction of the SD DFA Meetup Group

Future direction of the SD DFA Meetup Group

A former member
Dear SD DFA Meetup member,

A difference in perspective has arisen between the committee for our local
Meetup group (DFA Meetup group 23 meeting monthly at Giovanni's) and the
local San Diego for Democracy group. This difference has led Mike
Lawrence to resign from the post as our Meetup group's moderator.

Mike has posted the reason for his resignation on our Meetup Group's
discussion section. Carlene and John have posted a great follow-on.
If you have views about the direction our Meetup should go in, I strongly
encourage you to follow the link:

We welcome you to voice your opinion on the discussion board, come to the
next Meetup or preferably both. The power of our Meetup flows directly
from the involvement and committment of its members.

Our consensus is that the Meetup Group and San Diego for Democracy both
fill vital roles. It is the overlap of the roles and responsibilities
that are at issue.

Although I have strong personal views on the issue I don't believe it is
appropriate to express them in this e-mail. However, I will stress that
the Meetup is all of us. We can define it to be whatever we want it to

Thanks for your involvement,

-Rob Penny
