The San Diego Democracy for America Meetup Group Message Board › What happened at the Meetup?
La Mesa, CA
I had to leave after the first 20 minutes to get to the La Mesa Democratic Club and pass out info they'd requested.
Can someone please tell me what I missed?
I'd especially like details on the 4th Schwarzenegger initiative; I know about the pension one (just withdrawn), teacher tenure/merit pay, and redistricting. What else is there?
Also I'd heard that DFA members may be scheduling meetings with their Congressional representatives on Social Security. I'm in Duncan Hunter's district and would like to be included in any meeting. Note: Even if we're sure he'll refuse to meet with us, I encourage someone to please call and request a meeting. I'd love to do an article on how our elected official is refusing to see his constitutents on such an important issue!

I can't figure out how to view any of the replies to my messages or anyone else's. All of a sudden the replies won't display. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Please send your answer via email to email@example.com. Thanks! Miriam

With less than a week to go until the next DFA meetup, this important question still has not been answered. Since I was out of town for the April meetup, I also wanted to know what was discussed and resolved then. I emailed the SD DFA Committee three times asking what happened--with no answer. Is anybody on the Committee answering emails from members? Is there anybody assigned to take notes at each meeting and send out minutes of each meeting via email or post here? What is the agenda for next week? It would be nice to begin thinking about and discussing upcoming issues since there is only a finite amount of time at each meeting.

That is a very short review. I hope this will do for now.
Robert is planning on doing the summary, if Mike and Margaret
Lawrence do not come back to the steering committee.
The Speaker for May 4, will be Anne Hoiberg, from the United
Nations Assoc. of San Diego. She will be speaking about her
experiences in Iraq. I have heard her speech on this subject.
It was very interesting and damn good. I can't wait to hear it
