STEPS TO VOTE FOR A DELEGATE:

Make sure to check www.cadem.org/delegate2012 for caucus locations and a list of approved candidates. Please double check your name to ensure it¹s listed correctly on the website. Although the ballots have been created, if we hear from you prior to 10:00am on Friday, April 20 that your name is incorrect, we will make every attempt possible to include your corrected name on new ballots.

The next step is to organize your supporters to attend the Caucus on April 29, 2012 and vote for you. Remember, your supporters must be registered Democrats in your congressional district. If you aren¹t sure of the boundaries, use the Berkeley IGS Statewide Database map online at http://swdb.berkeley.edu/gis/gis2011/.

Shortly after registration closes the Caucus will begin. Candidates may then give 30-60 second speeches, depending on the number of candidates. After the speeches, all remaining ballots will be cast and the votes will be tallied. Rankings will be announced at the end of the Caucus. The top vote getters for each gender will be slated to the Delegate and Alternate positions allocated to your district. Districts holding multiple Caucuses due to geographic size may not have results until both caucuses have tallied the votes.

Registration will be from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. When you register, you will receive your ballot. You must be in line by 3:00pm to be eligible to receive a ballot. Once a voter receives a ballot, they may cast their ballot and leave.

If you have any questions regarding the Delegate Selection Process, please visit www.cadem.org/delegate2012 or email delegate2012@cadem.org.

Sincerely,
CDP Staff
