Celebrate Change, Create Change - Holiday Party

  • December 15, 2012 · 4:00 PM
  • Mark's House

East Bay Democracy for America’s been at the center of Progressive change since it started. This year we’ve looked at Who’s Stolen the American Dream, how we can work to reverse the Supreme Courts “Corporations are People” ruling and how boots on the ground can win elections in 2012.

Now it’s time to celebrate what we’ve accomplished at our Holiday Party. This is your chance to meet with like minded Progressives in a less formal environment than our regular Meetups.

Come to the Meetup

December 15th – Saturday

4 to 7pm

Mark & Gail Shafarman’s House
6011 Hillegass Ave. (just off Claremont)
Oakland

Mark & Gail will start the ball rolling, but we should all bring something to share - drinks, finger food or something more substantial. Anything you bring to share will be gladly eaten.

Suggestions:
A-H appetizers
I-O side dishes
P-Z desserts

2012 was a watershed year for Progressives around the country. There were many campaigns that need our help both here in California as well as around the country. EB DFA has always worked in many ways that help create Progressive change from letter writing to putting boots on the ground where it matters.

Come celebrate the change that we all helped bring about - and get ready for the work ahead to make sure Progressive change is on the agenda in Sacramento and Washington DC.

Sorry I didn't make it! Was out partying the night before. Took a nap and woke up too far into the party. I'm getting ancient.

Lori Haas, a MoveOn member & parent of a child who was attending class @Virginia Tech in 2007 when the bullets started flying is taking action and organizing a nation-wide Candlelight Vigil for 5pm tomorrow in the wake of the mass shootings at the Conn. primary school today:
"Tomorrow at 5 p.m., I'm hosting a candlelight vigil in my neighborhood in Richmond, Virginia. I hope others around the country will join me and make this a national moment of mourning, reflection, and resolve to act.
Can you host a vigil in your community tomorrow evening, Saturday, December 15, around 5 p.m., to remember the victims and call for a plan?" Go to:

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
