CELEBRATE OUR VICTORIES at the California Democratic Party Convention! WE WON EVERYTHING!!!!!
If you feel so inclined, BRING A BOTTLE OF WINE TO SHARE!
Hilary Crosby elected CDP Controller [and good things are already happening - Hil will give us the scoop at Meetup].
Karen Weinstein was elected Women's Caucus Chair and Ces Rosales elected Women's Caucus Legislative Chair (plus all their slate-mates elected too). Karen Bernal elected Progressive Caucus Chair, Mal Burnstein and Mayme Hubert of Marin (Co-founder of Take Back Red California) were elected Progressive Caucus Officers-at-large.
Scads of East Bay progressives showed up to campaign for our candidates and against Proposition 1A. Their work on the floor was key to the narrow vote in which California Democratic Party delegates withstood immense pressure from scores of State legislators (who were everywhere talking up the May 19th Ballot props) and voted NOT to endorse Prop 1A.
Seems like maybe we can take back the California Democratic Party after all. Lot's of work to do yet - none of the State's problems are solved - but the power of grassroots/netroots alliances in every part of the state is starting to show its strength.
Election time Again? Make that a double.
Hear from CANDIDATES running to replace Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher in CD 10

I hope we'll discuss the special election -- I'm so confused!
