FINALLY!! The CA Dem Party has taken up the Lakoff ballot initiative to amend the state constitution to change the words "two-thirds" to "majority" in the context of the budget and finance process. This is what has been impeding the budget approval process in California for years.

BUT, this is on a very short time cycle. PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE PETITION KIT. Follow all the directions carefully and return all required forms to the campaign office. The deadline is something like April 2nd, so HURRY!!!

The CaDem petition is NOT the Lakoff petition. Lakoff changes budget and tax voting to a simple majority. The CaDem one ONLY addresses budget, NOT taxes, BUT won't pay legislators salary or expenses when the budget is late. (Are YOU electing your rep because she/he is RICH?)
