Aquaponics 101 and IBC Tote System Construction

Now is the time to start thinking about all the great things that you can do in your garden this year! So, if you have ever thought that Aquaponics might be something that you would like to try, but didn't know where to start this would be the perfect thing for you to begin with. Even if you know a little about Aquaponics, this workshop will give you a much greater grasp on the mechanics of the systems and their capabilities.

For this workshop, we will have over SEVEN HOURS of instruction where we will cover just about everything that you need to know to go home to build and operate your own Aquaponic system. For the morning session will go through our "Aquaponics 101" curriculum (detailed below), and then we will have lunch with an informal Q&A to discuss some of the specifics related to "Texas" Aquaponics. Afterward, the afternoon session will be a hands-on construction opportunity to build a demonstration system using the most common component for a backyard AP system -- an IBC tote. Specifically, we will go through the steps to build a system from one tote, and then how to expand it with a second.

For a workshop fee of $75, you will receive over 7 hours of classroom and hands-on instruction, and each participant will receive a hardcopy training manual that contains all of the information presented (Aquaponics 101 and the IBC tote manual.)

We also know that cost is an issue these days, therefore, we offer a complete satisfaction guarantee. If you take one of our workshops and at the end you feel that it was not up to the standards that you expected -- we will refund your money in full.

Do you have a website? I have already built a few systems and don't know if this class would be beneficial to me or not.

James, welcome to the group! You can check out our website by going to the "Sponsor" section on the left and following the link to Green Phoenix Farms. Judging from your website, you might benefit more from our "Advanced" workshops that are held the third Saturday of every month. Our next one will be posted soon.

I have already paid for the same last workshop but was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict. Would I still have to RSVP for this workshop held in April that I'm planning to attend?

    • Adam

Daphne - you beat me to it... I was planning to email you when I got done with my morning errands! In answer to your question, you do not need to RSVP again, just let me know if the April class will work with your schedule. If so, I will adjust the attendance to reflect you coming.

Yes, I'm planning to attend the AP 101 workshop in April so please count me in. Thanks Adam!

Adam, is this the same class as the one re-scheduled for March 23rd?

    March 11, 2013

    • Adam

Andrew, no it isn't. On the 23rd, we have our Advanced Design Class. This one is our Aquaponics 101 class - we will offer it on the first Saturday of every month.
