FREE Aquaponic Build/Project Day

Class: 9am to 1pm
Cost: FREE

Come to our FREE Aquaponic Build Day. If you have questions or a project that you would like to work on regarding Aquaponics -- then this is the event for you. We are going to open up our workshop and provide a place where anyone who is interested can come work and build projects using Aquaponics.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COST TO ATTEND!!!! Please feel free to come on down, pull up an chair and watch, discuss, and help out with any of the projects that are being built. Most people learn best by doing, so that is what we hope to provide -- a place to DO things!

If you would like to use our tools, there will be a slight fee to cover wear/tear and electricity, and of course we will have our kits and equipments for sale if you need anything.

BUT, the focus is on YOU and YOUR PROJECT -- please come on down and bring your ideas. Let's get DFW growing with Aquaponics!

yes, we are doing a schedule today and I will get back to you. We are thinking of Dec. 15th for an all day advance set of classes. System design and what else would you be interested in?

sorry about the date. The 15th is an all day intro class and workshop and then, Sunday the 16th we will have an advance class. System design and then either custom build with liners, raft growing with new 36 plug raft or winter crops. Also interested in what you might like?

This might be a really stupid question but is it a wheelchair friendly environment? Where would one go to look at the product you have for sale, do you have website by chance Its a 3-4 hour drive for me to the big city. The reason behind my second question there are parts and things like grow beds that I can not afford the shipping on because I do not have forklift on site. If that is the case along with media and other goodies I need to bring my truck and trailer.

I do not know if anyone got back to you yet, if not allow me to try and answer your questions. Our building is a single level with no steps and wide openings. We sell basic parts to make systems and show you how they work. We can also design/build you a system and deliver. Our classes will tell you all about Aquaponics and we have manuals to give you step by step instructions to build a system. Let me know how we can help. David

Thanks to all of you that attended. We learned as much as you. That is the beauty of Aquaponics, it's so new we all have much to learn. I, as head of the Aquaponics Association DFW Chapter will continue to work with all individuals and groups involved with Aquaponics to spread the word. See you all again soon.

( sorry!) the most common recommendation for startup systems is to transplant plants seeded traditionally in pots or such. - you could go down to the garden center and buy some plants, or some potting soil. you could use any waterproof container to grow the plants....my dad used to take old milk cartons cut in half. once the seedlings are bigger and less fragile - maybe a month old- you would take them out of their potting soil home, dip them in water to rinse off the dirt from the roots, and place them in the media bed....i have read recommendations then to overseed these transplants with bare seed - which will hopefully sprout and start new plants a month older than the transplants...this allows you to harvest and still have plants filtering the fish water, keeping your fish healthy, and producing nutrients for the plants. whenever you take something out, you should have another plant ready to take it's place.
