Field Trip to the Dallas Zoo!

  • Meet at Elephant Fountain at 1:00pm
  • Everyone enjoys taking pictures of animals.  Well not everyone, but hey, most do.  And the Dallas Zoo has "Penguin Days" all Febuary long.  Which means EVERYONE gets in to the zoo for the small price of $5.00! (Parking is $8)

So lets head out and take some pictures of the animals!

Ok, officially I've scheduled this event to start at 1:00 pm.  At that time we will meet inside the main entrance, at Elephant Fountain.  (It's a short walk past the main entrance a little to the left.  If you can't find it, just ask someone at the information booth inside the main entrance).

The ZOO hours for this day are 9am till 4pm.  So feel free to come earlier than one and explore the zoo, then meet us at 1:00.  (Or you can come at 3:55 and only stay for 5 minutes, but I don't recommend that).

This is Super Bowl Sunday.  So we'll be done in time to watch the game and we've got a great excuse to not be home and not watch hours and hours of pregame BS.  Hope to see you there!

The Zoo isn't going anywhere folks. Stay home, safe, and dry. We will do it another day as a group.

Never been to the zoo there. I'm guessing you have permission for us as a large group to be in there? I know different zoos have rules on camera gear. So I'm guessing this is going to be all good in there or do we need to deal with any zoo waivers?

Matthew, we've done this several years now and we don't need any special permission. The reality of the situation is that no matter what size group we start up as, we seem to always break into smaller groups along the way anyway.

Sounds great, what age ranges are there normally? I have a couple young photographers I'm planning on bringing.

At this time I don't think I will be able to attend, I have to help prepare for a Super Bowl Party, but I can't wait to see everyone's pictures!!

We went to the Stock Show on Superbowl Sunday one time and it was fantastic!! The crowds were pretty much absent that day!

Today's weather forecast is calling for rain on Groundhog Day. Superbowl Sunday should be very low attendance. Plus rain (awesome Clouds...) could be the best animal shoot op this year.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
