Photography 101: Camera Operations and Exposure Basics

Get a new camera for Christmas? Wanting to learn more about it? Or perhaps you have had a camera for awhile but want to learn to use it better! This class is for the beginner photographer with a Digital SLR, or for the moderately experienced photographer that is looking to refresh their basic knowledge of photography and how to operate their camera.

Topics covered will be:
• Understanding How Your Camera Works
• Exposure Basics
• ISO Settings
• Automatic/Program Mode
• Preset Modes (Portraiture, Landscape, Sports, Macro, etc.)
• Aperture Priority
• Shutter Priority
• Full Manual Mode

The class will last about 2.0 hours and will include in class exercises, so please bring your cameras. The class is designed for teaching the principals of photography. A DSLR camera is suggested for this class. If you have a point and shoot camera that can be set to manual mode, you will be able to follow along with some of the principals being taught.

  Hey Monique, congrats on the camera! Come out to some of our events so you can practice. The Zoo event is coming up in Feb and I'll help set your camera up to take pics if you need me to. Just ask! And I'll host my Photo 101 class again in February if you want to come out to a class.
