Hi, I have just moved from the St. Louis area, and will be opening a studio in Frisco. I look forward to meeting and collaborating with anyone interested! I have been in photography for over 15 years, 5 professionally. Thank you!
I was shooting all Nikon, most recently the D300 which I shoot underwater. I own a D200/2 D100's which I also shoot underwater. I then added Canon, and added the 7D and the T2i (backup). I own 2 70-200 2.8 for the Nikon, 1 for Canon, a 200-400 Nikon, 800 Canon, 24-70 2.8 for both, an assortment of great wide angles, Really right stuff tripod heads, Gitzso tripods and monopods.... These are all the usual suspects.... I have the new Canon 8-15 on order and can't wait to try it....I want the 5d Mark II, but keep waiting for a new one from Canon, if Nikon would only push them a little more.....
All Mac here! Photoshop CS5, Lightroom 2, Bridge.....and why use anything else. Of course I have a ton of actions I love and piggyback programs for that fast splash.....
So it started a hobby, then I was getting paid in medical school, but those were the film days and I didn't have time to turn a wedding around AND go to medical school, so I went underground and shot for myself. 5 years ago I was asked to start shooting portraits, and it was wildly successful. To keep my business down, I raised my prices higher than anyone around me, and I was still turning away clients.... So now we just closed on a property in Starwood in Frisco, and I will hire some additional photographers and go all in. I have one last wedding scheduled in St. Louis in October, and then I'm off to the races here. I love photography, I love meeting people, and I love creating lasting images....getting paid to do it is just the cream on top.
I love nature and wildlife, I enjoy working with aspiring models - although that is mostly free I do have models now paying me, portraits and weddings pay for the studio. Macro I just have not gotten into except in underwater where it is always there if you look for it.
Yellowstone, then Yellowstone, and finally when I have time, Yellowstone. I used to love a very grungy area of St. Louis, I look all my models there, and most of my bridal parties. I am going to start looking for some fun shooting areas here and in Dallas for that. I will have a studio mostly for maternity, new borns, and the first part of a senior shoot. Otherwise I'm all in for location work, you just can't simulate that in a studio.
