Masks of Nyarlathotep

  • We have been meeting for a bi-weekly saturday game that runs from around 2-3 until we feel like stopping. The games usually end around 7-8. The characters have been three. Two female and one male investigator with another female that joins occasionally. The story has progressed to near the end of the first chapter ( New York) and will probably go overseas within the next session or two. We are looking for one to two more players interrelated in joining us. We are in the lewisville, flower mound area. We are not using the Chaosium ruleset but a D20 based, roll low system that mimics the original rules. Anyone who may be interested please respond.

Been playing more Call/Trail of Cthulhu online lately so interested in this though curious, is this the D20 Call of Cthulhu rules if it's not the simple BRP ruleset? Will have to try to find the D20 book hiding around here but interested to know more as trying to get a local game started with friends has been rough to get started.

Strange how you made a ruleset yet there's the one d20 Call of Cthulhu system made by Monte Cook a few years back before 6th edition came out. Interested to see how it's different than that version.

Thats basically 3.5 with the Call of Cthulhu setting. I have that ruleset. The one we are using requires low rolls. 1 is a critical success and 2 is a partial critical success while 20s are possible fumbles. Its much closer to BRP than 3.5. Much pulpier than basic Call of Cthulhu ( due to Hero/Fate points) but maintaining character fragility.

It's been a long time since I've played Call of Cthulhu, but I dig it a lot. Great game. And Masks is a great campaign. Please send me info on where and when. I'm assuming I can generate a character before the first session. Please send me any notes that you have on character generation and thoughts on what would be appropriate. [masked].

We aren't using the Call of Cthulhu system. You ok with that? A professorial type character would maybe fit best but anything could work.

D20 or a varient system is fine. Professorial is what I always used to play, and I think I can come up with an interesting varient on that. When do you play next? Im just over in Flower Mound.
